Now that you’re pregnant, it’s time to find a prenatal care provider you trust and feel comfortable with. They’ll help you make decisions and care for you throughout your pregnancy, and you’ll work together to plan for the birth experience you want.

Family medicine physicians
Your family medicine physician can care for you during your pregnancy and for your child after he or she is born.
Obstetrician-gynecologists
Ob-gyns are medical doctors who specialize in the care of pregnant women. Most can also provide gynecological care for you when you’re not pregnant.
Certified nurse-midwives
These registered nurses can care for you before, during, and after your pregnancy. They also deliver babies and give birth control counseling.
