Important mental health and substance use disorder treatment information

The first step to getting help is often the hardest. If you or your dependent needs treatment for mental health concerns — or if you just want more information about mental health — we’re here to help.

  • To access specialty care mental health services, call us at 503-249-3434 or 1-855-632-8280, weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to speak to a provider or schedule an appointment within 15 days for routine care.
  • Integrated primary care behavioral health services are also available for same-day/next-day care at most medical offices for urgent needs and within 10 business days for nonurgent care. Call 1-800-813-2000 (TTY 771) or schedule online.

If you or your dependent are unable to schedule a specialty care appointment within 15 days or an integrated primary care appointment within 10 business days or have difficulty finding a provider, please call us at 1-855-632-8280 during regular business hours or 1-800-813-2000 after hours.
 

Emergency

If you or your dependent needs emergency care for mental health or substance use, visit the nearest emergency room or call 988 . For medical emergencies, call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room.  
 

Crisis

For crisis support, call our crisis line at 1-866-453-3932 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or use the online chat available (Spanish language and hard of hearing accessible).

Self-care and resources

Effective, no-cost tools and resources for you and your dependents to help improve anxiety symptoms, sleep, substance use, mood, and more.

  • Visit self-care for resources including the Calm and myStrength apps for members 18+, audio activities, articles, and more at no cost.1,2
  • The Ginger app offers immediate 1-on-1 support for coping with many common challenges — from anxiety, stress, and low mood to issues with work, relationships, and more. Ginger’s highly trained emotional support coaches are ready to help 24/7. Adult Kaiser Permanente members can use the app for 90 consecutive days per year at no cost.2,3,4,5
