Renewing Your QUEST Integration Health Plan Coverage

Med-QUEST has paused Medicaid member disenrollments/terminations statewide

The State of Hawaii Department of Human Services Med-QUEST (MQD)
Division has paused QUEST (Medicaid) member disenrollments/terminations statewide as follows:

  • Maui terminations paused through the end of May 2024
  • Oahu (and rest of the state) terminations on pause for the remainder of 2023

The following applies for all Med-QUEST members statewide:

  • Med-QUEST has paused terminations for the remainder of 2023, meaning Medicaid coverage will continue through at least the end of this year without interruption except for those who voluntarily ask Med-QUEST to end their coverage, those who have moved out of state or those who are deceased.
  • If Med-QUEST can successfully renew a member’s eligibility at this time, MQD will, and a pink letter confirming the member’s renewed Medicaid coverage will be mailed to them.
  • If Med-QUEST is unable to renew a member’s Medicaid coverage at this time, the member’s renewal date will be pushed out to a new month after this pause.

The Kaiser Permanente QUEST Integration Health Plan is available to those eligible for Medicaid who reside on Maui and Oahu.

If you need help with your renewal, call our Medicaid Assistance Center at 1-800-772-6841 (TTY 711) from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Each year, Med-QUEST will conduct a review to determine if you and/or your family members still meet QUEST Integration eligibility requirements. This review process is called redetermination.

Here’s how it works:

  • Step 1: Med-QUEST will mail the yearly renewal/redetermination packet to you and /or your family members several weeks before your redetermination date.
  • Step 2: Please fill out, sign, and return the forms, along with any extra required information. All information must be completed by the deadline provided by the state to avoid a break in coverage.

You will continue to have QUEST Integration benefits throughout this redetermination process.

If you no longer qualify for QUEST Integration

You’ll have a limited amount of time to act to get other health coverage before your Special Enrollment Period ends. You should quickly see if you are eligible for financial assistance from the government by visiting healthcare.gov

Losing health coverage such as QUEST Integration is considered a qualifying event that would trigger a Special Enrollment Period. You are eligible to enroll within 60 days of that event.
