About our physicians in Hawaii

Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, Inc. (HPMG) physicians devote their time and attention to providing care to our members — for everything from preventive services like immunizations and routine appointments to necessary surgery and hospitalization.

Our primary care physicians and specialists practice together as a group, each focusing on his or her specialty, while consulting with and providing support for fellow physicians. This gives each member the full benefit of our medical staff's combined experience.

In addition, Kaiser Permanente physicians use our electronic health record, which allows electronic prescriptions and communication with members using secure email messaging.

Credentialing

To assure high professional standards are maintained, physicians must become board certified within 4 years of joining HPMG. Kaiser Permanente maintains one of the highest physician certification rates in the state.

In addition, each member of our medical group is reviewed every 2 years as a part of a reappointment process; each member is also periodically reviewed by licensure and hospital boards to assure that credentials are up-to-date and in order.
