I am a proud southern Colorado native and am excited to be practicing in Colorado Springs. I was born and raised in Pueblo and received my undergraduate degree in biology from UCCS. I completed my medical degree as well as my training in family medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. After completing residency, I joined the faculty with the University of Colorado family medicine residency program, where I practiced for two years before joining Kaiser Permanente. In 2018, I was honored to be recognized by the University of Colorado School of Medicine Colorado Springs Branch as the Outstanding Clinical Teacher of the Year for family medicine.
I believe in taking a collaborative approach when caring for my patients. This includes the patient and all members of the heath care team. Educating patients regarding their wellness, medical problems, and treatment options is one of the most important aspects of my job. This empowers the patient to take charge of their care. I enjoy family medicine because it allows me to take care of patients of all ages from birth to the end of life. I have a special interest in children and women’s health. Additionally, I do some basic in-office procedures including most gynecologic procedures.
I thrive by making memories with my three children and my husband, who is also a Colorado Permanente Medical Group physician. Family is the center of my life and we are thankful to be living near so many members of our extended family. Some of our favorite activities include exploring our great state, cooking, hiking, swimming and cycling.
