About me

Welcome to my Web page! I am happy to have this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. I find working at Kaiser Permanente very fulfilling because of my wonderful colleagues and the opportunity it provides for me to make a positive difference in members’ lives. I look forward to meeting you and working with you to care for your health.

Biography

After medical school and residency in anesthesia, I took care of patients in the operating room and intensive care. Some of my patients struggled with alcohol and drug use disorders, and I became interested in the field of chemical dependency. To better understand the disease and my patients, I pursued a fellowship in addiction medicine as well as a master's degree in clinical psychology. From my mentors, I have learned the importance of an integrated approach to medicine, which involves treating the mind, body, and soul. I have wanted to be a doctor since I was a little girl, and I owe a lot to my parents, who believed in me and gave their unconditional love and support. I am happily married and blessed to have a husband who is also my true confidant. Together we enjoy quiet evenings as well as time spent with family and friends.

About my practice

Addiction is a chronic illness characterized by continued use of alcohol and/or other drugs despite adverse consequences. Helping members who struggle with chemical addictions is a team effort, and I am privileged to work with physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers, and others who share my passion of helping members live healthy, sober lives. Addictions can be challenging and, like any other disease, should be treated using modern approaches that include scientifically based medications and therapies. I believe addiction is a disorder that, with effective treatment, can be managed successfully over one's lifetime. For me, medicine as a career offers a very special opportunity to connect and help members in a meaningful way, based on individual needs. As a doctor, I feel honored that members entrust me with their care.

How I thrive

I live a healthy life by walking in the sand, biking, reading, spending time with family and friends, and going to church.
