Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I'm a colorectal surgeon who serves Kaiser Permanente members in the San Diego area. I'm so happy to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my practice.
I'm originally from Rome, Italy, but grew up in the United States on the East Coast, in New York, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. I moved to California in 2008. My wife and I love the weather and the people out here, and we're very happy to be part of the San Diego community.
About my practice
Practicing medicine allows me to use my medical knowledge, surgical skills, and listening abilities to help members receive the attention, compassion, and care they need. I understand how stressful undergoing surgery can be for members and their loved ones. I want to help make these difficult situations as comfortable as possible for you and your family. My specific clinical interests are general surgery issues such as hernias and gallbladder procedures. My clinical expertise in colorectal surgery involves colon and rectal cancer, rectal prolapse, inflammatory bowel disease, anal dysplasia, and anal cancer, among other conditions. I regularly perform minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgeries, sphincter-sparing rectal resections, and "colon conservation" surgeries including scarless operative endoscopies (CELS) and transanal minimally invasive surgeries.
How I thrive
I firmly believe in Kaiser Permanente's philosophy of health in body, mind, and spirit, and I try to practice it in my life every day. My family life is a major priority for me. I enjoy playing soccer, hiking, mountain biking, golfing, and spending time with my wife, 2 children, and dogs.
