Welcome to my Web page. I’m glad to have this opportunity to share with you information about myself and my practice.
I was born and raised in Virginia. My interest in medicine was sparked early on by my father, who is also an orthopedic surgeon. After studying art history in college, I moved to New England, where I remained for the next 11 years completing medical school, residency, and fellowship training. During my residency, I decided that the Kaiser Permanente model of health care was the way I wanted to practice. I truly believe that our model provides the best care for members. Prior to moving to San Diego, I was a fellow in spine surgery at the Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center.
The scope of my practice includes the surgical management of disorders of the cervical, lumbar, and thoracic spine. I believe in a team approach to treating spinal pathology—surgeons, physical medicine physicians, and interventional anesthesiologists. I work closely with these specialists to provide comprehensive spine care.
I believe in the Kaiser Permanente philosophy of balance. When not working, I enjoy skiing, paddling, and going to art museums.
