About me

Welcome to my Web page! I’m proud to be a physician with Kaiser Permanente, and I’m glad to be able to share my passion for medicine with you. Practicing medicine at Kaiser Permanente has been extremely rewarding. I enjoy the collegiality of my surgical and medical colleagues, as well as the great members we have here in San Diego.

Biography

I’m a native of Southern California, and I grew up as a Kaiser Permanente member in the San Fernando Valley. I went to college at UC Berkeley and found myself fascinated by the life sciences. I chose to pursue a career in medicine, as I loved the intellectual challenges and the emotional satisfaction of practicing medicine. I’ve been in San Diego for quite some time now, having received my medical degree and my specialty training in anesthesiology from UC San Diego. I like to volunteer my professional services to charitable organizations that serve the less fortunate.

About my practice

I practice anesthesia in a dynamic, fast-paced, and challenging setting. Anesthesia is the practice of medicine and, as such, requires all my compassion, intelligence, education, and empathy. As a perioperative physician, I focus on educating my members, relieving anxiety, managing pain, and, most importantly, doing everything possible to make sure my members have a successful surgery. As the chief of anesthesiology in San Diego and the regional chief of anesthesiology for the Southern California region, I’ve been able to share my enthusiasm and vision with my colleagues.

How I thrive

I enjoy traveling to the remote beaches of our small world with my family, but can often be found on a local San Diego beach, hiking at Torrey Pines, or at Balboa Park. My family life is my major priority. I enjoy hiking, biking, and traveling with the family. My wife, three children, and I enjoy the many offerings of San Diego and quiet family time at home.
