Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues, the supportive staff, and our many gracious members. I look forward to working with you to care for your health.
I was born and raised in Southern California. My father is a pulmonologist and my mother was a nurse. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to become a doctor. After completing my degree in biochemistry at UC San Diego, I went on to earn my medical degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. I completed my general surgery training at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Following my residency, my family and I moved to Tampa, Florida, for my fellowship training in surgical oncology. After so many years away from home, I was excited to return to San Diego and join Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
My primary interests include the management of a variety of cancers, including stomach, small intestine, colon, melanoma, sarcoma, and breast. I strongly believe that our members benefit from a team approach to cancer care. I enjoy working closely with oncologists to determine the best course of treatment for each person. An important and rewarding part of my job is educating my patients about their cancer diagnosis and supporting them through the treatment and recovery process. In addition to surgical oncology, I am first and foremost a general surgeon, with extensive experience in several areas of elective and emergency surgery.
How I thrive
Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. Outside of the hospital, I spend the majority of my time with my wife and my three young children. My personal hobbies include surfing and playing drums.
