Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and to tell you a little about my practice and me personally. I am interested in learning about you and the things that are important to you. It is a privilege to assist you and guide you in your health care.
I am the 15th of 16 children. My parents came to the U.S. from Lebanon in the early part of the 20th century. Both my parents were raised in a simple farming village and neither of them had an opportunity to obtain an education, therefore neither could read nor write any language. Yet my parents provided for my brothers, sisters and me an environment that nurtured love and respect for all people, a desire for an education, and an eagerness to contribute to the lives and well-being of other people. I chose to become a doctor because I love other people and I find it extremely rewarding to help others, especially helping them to help themselves. I am grateful to have three wonderful children and a talented and wonderful wife. My hobbies are many, including hiking, bicycling and working with my hands.
Much of my work as a physician now involves the care of the elderly. I work closely with a nurse practitioner to provide care for them. I strongly believe in empowering patients to help themselves when possible, as knowledge helps us to make good choices that impact our health. I believe in prevention whenever possible, and work towards the goal of preventing illness, in addition to resolving problems once they have occurred.
I believe in preventive care and the power of the individual in meeting the demands we are faced with in life. I try to exercise in some capacity every day, although this is clearly a challenge with work and family responsibilities. I believe in a philosophy that mutually respects all people and all things. Those who know me know how much this plays a part in my life. I strive for a balance between health of the body, the mind and the spirit.
