Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am glad to have a chance to talk about my work and share other information about myself. It is very important that you feel comfortable with your physician or surgeon, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.
I was born in South Korea. My family came to the United States when I was 10, and I grew up in Southern California. I attended University of California, San Diego for my undergraduate studies where my interest in medical field began. After medical school and residency training in San Francisco, I decided to move my family down to sunny San Diego to continue my practice with Kaiser Permanente. I have a loving, supportive wife and three wonderful (though at times loud!) kids.
About my practice
Medicine as a career is a very special opportunity to connect with people in a meaningful way, utilizing medical skills and knowledge, but also listening and responding to what patients need. As a doctor, I am privileged that my patients share their innermost concerns with me, and I am honored to be able to translate these concerns and help arrange the appropriate evaluations and treatments. Communication with my patients and their families is an important part of my practice. I am honored that patients have entrusted me with their care, and I strive to treat them as I would my own family.
How I thrive
Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. It allows me to be a better person and a better doctor. I make it a priority to set aside time for my family, as well as some relaxing time for myself. For my family, my patients, and myself, I also try to keep healthy with outdoor activities. I enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, golfing, and surfing when I have opportunities.
