Where I practice
I’d like to offer you a very warm welcome to my Web page. I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. I feel blessed to be working among my wonderful colleagues and our members at Kaiser Permanente, and I look forward to working with you as well.
I grew up in a rural, forested area outside of Eugene, Oregon. Even though I went to Stanford and absolutely loved my years on “The Farm,” I am a Quacker Backer—an avid fan of the Ducks at the University of Oregon. While I miss the trees, rain, and mountains of the Pacific Northwest, my residency training brought me to San Diego, where I met my husband, and which we now call home. I have always been interested in health care and initially thought I wanted to pursue a career as a health policy analyst. Four months in Washington, DC, left me with a deep appreciation of those who devote so much energy to causes without guarantee of a tangible result. That experience also made me realize that what I had been searching for was the opportunity to help people in a much more literal sense—and medicine is the perfect way for me to do that.
About my practice
Women's health and obstetrics/gynecology have been a perfect fit for me. I feel so honored to be a part of some of the biggest transitions in women's lives—puberty, childbearing, and healthy golden years. My goal as your physician is to empower you by helping you become the healthiest you can be and by providing the care, education, and resources you need.
How I thrive
I ran my first half marathon when I was in medical school as a way to challenge myself after a health scare of my own. I continue to pound the pavement on a regular basis. I've always said that I run to eat because I love cooking, experimenting with new vegetables available at the local farmer's market, and also my guilty pleasure baking with plenty of chocolate! At home, I feel very fortunate to have the support and company of an amazing husband as well as our two loving cats, who make any day better with their purrs.
