What is Medicaid?

Medicaid is a federal and state health coverage program available to people who have low incomes and limited resources.

If you qualify for Medicaid under your state’s program, you may be eligible to receive your Medicaid health care with Kaiser Permanente.

Do you qualify for Medicaid?

To qualify for Medicaid, you must meet certain state-specific requirements. You may qualify for free or low-cost coverage through Medicaid based on your income (based on the Federal Poverty Level guidelines), family size and age.

Keep your Medicaid coverage

Every year your state checks to see if you still qualify for Medicaid benefits. This process is called Medicaid renewal, redetermination, or recertification.

Your state’s Medicaid office may need to contact you about your eligibility. Make sure they have your current contact information before April 1, 2023.
