The Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) administers both Medicaid and FAMIS (Family Access to Medical Insurance Security), which is Virginia's program for children who meet certain eligibility criteria.

Sentara Health and Kaiser Permanente have joined together in Northern Virginia to offer you expanded access to health care services. Through this relationship, Sentara Health/Kaiser Permanente members will receive quality health care at any Kaiser Permanente medical center.

Sentara Health has a long-standing history of providing access to care throughout the Commonwealth. Together, we will stay true to our commitment to improve the health of communities in every part of Virginia.

Most individuals who qualify for Medicaid will have no monthly premium, no copay, and no out-of-pocket cost for most covered services. For FAMIS, a small monthly premium or copay may apply.
