About me
I was raised in Portland, Oregon. I grew up in a family that valued physical exercise and health. I spent summers at the coast and winters in the high desert. I grew up playing lots of sports, and continued my love of physical health in college where I ran cross country and track. I knew from a young age that I wanted a career in medicine, I think because I correctly assumed that medicine would provide a meaningful career of ongoing challenge, emotional and intellectual reward. I was fortunate to have attended medical school at University of Southern California, which is associated with LA County Hospital. It was the early exposure to the healthcare needs of a community grappling with poverty and violence and the profound consequences of untreated illnesses and preventable conditions that further fueled my interest in a person-centered career in an integrated health care system designed to address health disparities and promote health equity.
After 15 years in California, I finally made it home to my beloved Pacific Northwest. Although I continue to enjoy travel with my husband and our two children, the time away solidified what I already knew, there is no where more beautiful than home.
About my practice
As an oncologist deeply committed to patient-centered care within an evidence-based framework, I am driven by a passion for improving the lives of those battling cancer. I first developed a deep appreciation for the complexity of cancer as a disease when I took a class in college called The Biology of Cancer. While I found the pathophysiology fascinating and the global burden of cancer staggering, I knew it would be the interpersonal aspect of cancer care that I would ultimately find the most meaningful.
I am ABIM board certified and maintain ongoing LKA certification in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology. I work to integrate the latest research and medical advancements into a personalized treatment plan that is appropriate to my patients unique needs. I believe that cancer care is at its peak when practiced in a team setting, and to this end I am grateful for the dedicated team I have at Kaiser Permanente. I practice full scope classical and malignant hematology, with a special focus on cancers of the immune system and bone marrow. I practice in both the ambulatory and inpatient settings, providing both in person and virtual care and consultation.
How I thrive
I continue to love and value physical health and time outdoors. I enjoy running and hiking in Forest Park, skiing on Mt Hood and Bachelor, and watching soccer with my family. I am interested in the governance of health care systems.

Referrals to affiliated community physicians/providers in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community physicians/providers are not part of the NWPMG (Northwest Permanente Medical Group). They are physicians/providers credentialed by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest and/or who have a contract with the NWPMG.
If your NWPMG physician decides that you require covered services not available internally from an NWPMG physician, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community physician/provider. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community physician/provider.
Referrals to affiliated community dentists in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community dentists are not part of PDA (Permanente Dental Associates). They are dentists credentialed by PDA for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest, and they have a contract with PDA.
If your PDA dentist decides that you require covered services not available internally from a PDA dentist, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community dentist. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community dentist.
