About me
I was raised in Hong Kong and moved to California after high school. With a strong interest in science and math, I pursued a degree in chemical engineering, which led me to an incredible opportunity working at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory—where plutonium was originally discovered. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that deepened my appreciation for scientific discovery.
Over time, I realized that I was equally drawn to the intellectual challenge of medicine. Both fields demand analytical thinking, but medicine offers the unique privilege of connecting directly with people. After completing my oncology training, I chose to settle in Portland, Oregon, where I was drawn to the collaborative and integrated model of care at Kaiser Permanente Northwest. More than anything, I’m inspired by the outstanding team I get to work with every day.
About my practice
My clinical focus is in breast cancer, sarcoma and neuroendocrine tumors. I completed my fellowship training in Houston, Texas, where I had the privilege of learning from exceptional mentors and colleagues.
I believe the foundation of good medicine lies in listening. My goal is to align closely with each patient—understanding their story, values, and goals—so that we can make decisions together. Personalized care is essential. There is no one-size-fits-all approach in oncology, and I strive to ensure each patient’s treatment is tailored to who they are as a person, not just the disease they are facing.
Collaboration on Multidisciplinary Teams
I work closely with specialists across multiple disciplines to deliver seamless, comprehensive cancer care. I actively participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards—including the thoracic tumor board—where we come together as a team to craft personalized, evidence-based care plans. This level of collaboration helps us address not only the medical, but also the emotional and supportive needs of our patients.
Research and Clinical Trials
I am proud to serve as a sub-investigator in the National Cancer Institute’s Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP), helping bring national clinical trials to our patients locally. I collaborate with key research networks such as SWOG Cancer Research Network, the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, and NRG Oncology, offering patients access to emerging therapies and contributing to the advancement of cancer treatment.

I am a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). These affiliations keep me connected to the latest developments in cancer care and support my commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based treatment.
How I thrive
Living in the Pacific Northwest allows me to enjoy the natural beauty of the region. I value a well-balanced life and find joy in spending time outdoors with my wife and son—whether camping, hiking, or exploring new places. My goal is to visit all the natural wonders that make this part of the country so special.

Referrals to affiliated community physicians/providers in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community physicians/providers are not part of the NWPMG (Northwest Permanente Medical Group). They are physicians/providers credentialed by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest and/or who have a contract with the NWPMG.
If your NWPMG physician decides that you require covered services not available internally from an NWPMG physician, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community physician/provider. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community physician/provider.
Referrals to affiliated community dentists in Oregon and Washington
Affiliated community dentists are not part of PDA (Permanente Dental Associates). They are dentists credentialed by PDA for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Northwest, and they have a contract with PDA.
If your PDA dentist decides that you require covered services not available internally from a PDA dentist, he or she may refer you to an affiliated community dentist. You must have a written, authorized referral from Kaiser Permanente in order to receive a covered service from an affiliated community dentist.
