By the time you are 16 weeks pregnant, your baby has grown to over 5 inches in length, weighs 3 to 4 ounces, and is about the size of an apple.

Your baby continues to grow quickly and is becoming stronger. They can:

  • Hold up their head.
  • Make facial expressions.
  • Move around inside the amniotic sac.
  • Make sucking motions.

Your baby’s intestinal tract is now producing a form of waste called meconium.
