About me
Although I consider Florida my home state, I was born in Germany and spent some of my youth in Europe. However, my father and his family are from Boulder. I am excited to work in Denver as it brings me closer to my familial roots. Both my fiancée and I are excited about the move to Colorado and starting a family here. Becoming a physician is probably one of the accomplishments that I am most proud of. It was a long journey and it is extremely rewarding when you are able to make a difference in someone's life. I am honored to be recognized as a 5280 Magazine Top Doctor in 2022.
About my practice
Studying electrical engineering as an undergraduate, I was fascinated by how the brain and spine function by sending signals to all of the body. It was a natural fit for me to choose neurosurgery since I would be able to use both my hands and brain. My way of providing care is to form a partnership with the patient and help them make the best decision for themselves. I listen to their issues and educate them about their conditions, treatment options and long-term care. I believe that honesty is the best policy and strive to also be compassionate. My interest within the field is in minimally invasive spine surgery. The goal is to preserve as much of the natural anatomy as possible and to help patients regain function with quick recovery. I work closely with other physicians to tailor treatment for individual patients.
How I thrive
I do think that it is important to keep a balance between work and life to keep a healthy mind. Outside of work, my interests involve riding my bike, hiking, cooking new recipes and enjoying the arts. I might start skiing again if time allows.

Kaiser Permanente considers the following factors as it builds and maintains provider networks:
- Size and demographics of the population to be served
- The inventory of provider and facility types required to serve the population
- Practitioner-to-member ratios and geographic access standards
- Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references
You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.
An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
