About me

I am originally from Minnesota, born and raised. The beauty of Colorado’s mountains drew me here for opportunity of change and growth in my career and personal life. I knew I wanted to be a therapist from a young age through my desire to understand relationships and help others. I am excited and proud to be dually licensed as both a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a passion for learning and understanding other cultures; currently I am studying Spanish and have been for several years to be able to serve my patients better.

About my practice

Population: adult, young adults, family, group, teens/adolescents. Specialties: ADD/ADHD, Anxiety, depression, grief and loss, parenting, life transitions, divorce/family changes, family relationships, family therapy/family systems, and trauma. Interventions: CBT, DBT, EFT, and systemic therapy. I chose to be a therapist who specializes in systemic thinking because I believe we function in relation to people and the systems of which we are part of including work, personal life, school and other areas.  I work with children, adolescents, and young adults. With children and adolescents, I feel it is important to help them feel heard, understood and to find a voice for themselves; with adults, I feel it’s important to encourage empowerment and knowledge about themselves through talk therapy.  My communication style is client centered where I strive to understand you and how I can support you in achieving your therapeutic goals.  I enjoy including wellness and mindfulness into my practice of care. Therapy isn’t necessarily about ‘fixing’ things in your life, but rather learning to understand yourself more in the process and finding positive ways to deal with what has happened or what you are experiencing. I would be humbled to be able to walk beside you on that journey of self-discovery.

How I thrive

Aside from my professional life, I thrive on a mountain top; I find solitude and peace hiking in the mountains and climbing fourteeners. My goal is to climb all 53 of the fourteeners; so far I’ve done 33! Other passions of mine are spending time with my fiancé and our two dogs. I want to learn Spanish to better serve our population here at Kaiser Permanente. I went to Guatemala in June of 2017 to study Spanish at a school where I stayed with a local Guatemalan family to be immersed in their culture and learn the language. I still stay connected with them and hope to go back within the next few years to continue to learn.  I enjoy participating in events that support the awareness of Epilepsy. A few of my other hobbies are yoga, running, baking and eating Mexican food.

Pueblo DSNP members must choose a Primary Care Physician who is located within a KP Medical Office Building. Please refer to the Medicare print directory for Southern Colorado for a full list of these providers.

To find:

  • Kaiser Permanente medical office providers’ hours, search our facility directory
  • Affiliated providers’ office hours or languages spoken by front office staff, call their office directly
  • Providers in your plan or accepting new patients, call 1-303-338-4545 or 1-800-218-1059 (TTY 711), Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Information in this online directory is updated periodically and applies to commercial plans underwritten by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Colorado. The availability of physicians, hospitals, providers, and services may change. To verify whether a provider accepts Kaiser Permanente plans, contact the provider directly. Current provider information is available at kp.org/locations. This information is updated within 72 business hours of receipt from providers. Kaiser Permanente Colorado attempts to ensure the online directory contains up-to-date information. The printed directory is current as of the date of publication.

To report any inaccuracies in the directory or to file a complaint regarding your experience with a provider, contact Member Services at 1-800-632-9700 (TTY 711), Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., or visit kp.org/memberservices.

Medicare Members: To request a hard copy of Kaiser Permanente’s provider directory, please call our Member Services department at 1-800-476-2167, seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Kaiser Permanente will mail a hard copy of the provider directory to you within three (3) business days of your request. Kaiser Permanente may ask whether your request for a hard copy is a one-time request or if you are requesting to receive the provider directory in hard copy permanently.

If you request it, your request for hard copies of the provider directory remains until you leave Kaiser Permanente or request that hard copies be discontinued.

Kaiser Permanente considers the following factors as it builds and maintains provider networks:

  • Size and demographics of the population to be served
  • The inventory of provider and facility types required to serve the population
  • Practitioner-to-member ratios and geographic access standards
  • Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references

You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.

An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
