About me
A Colorado native, I was born and raised in Grand Junction. During high school and college, I spent many summers volunteering and working in South America, where I learned Spanish and developed a passion for healthcare. I completed medical school in Pennsylvania and residency in family medicine in San Diego. Before arriving at Kaiser Permanente, I worked for 7 years at a community health center in Denver, where I cared for whole families both in the clinic and hospital – from delivering babies to caring for children and adults of all ages. In my free time, I can be found goofing around with my 2 rambunctious red-headed boys and their sidekick, my wonderful husband. I can also be spotted gardening, crafting, and playing in the great outdoors.
About my practice
It is my calling and privilege to be a physician and to serve my patients. My goal is to collaborate with patients to support them in achieving their health goals. My favorite part of being a family physician is developing relationships with my patients over the course of their lives. I love the unique job of being able to care for everyone in a family – from a mother through her pregnancy to her newborn infant, the grandparents, and everyone in between.
I treat patients as I would my own family, and I strive to offer compassionate, excellent, evidence-based care. I believe in treating the whole person and I focus on preventive medicine. Nothing makes me happier than having a good laugh with patients or lending a shoulder during life’s difficult moments.
My areas of interests include women’s health and pediatrics, for which I obtained additional medical training in maternal child health. I also have a special place in my heart for speaking Spanish and caring for the Latino population.
How I thrive
I love medicine, and my career fulfills me. Outside of this, time spent with my family fills my soul – from outdoor adventures, exploring new places together, playing board games, or cuddling on the couch. Exercise also helps ground me, and I try to hike, camp, or play outside when the opportunity arises. I value quality time with friends. Lastly, I keep a big flower garden & love playing in the dirt, growing blooms, and sharing them with others.
