About me

I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, and called it home for almost 50 years of my life. My undergraduate studies, medical school, residency, and fellowship training were all performed in Philadelphia and much of my life was rooted in the city. However, during my educational pursuits, my wife and I would venture out west for snowboarding and quickly embraced the beauty of Colorado. As we settled into our careers, our interests broadened into long-distance endurance sports, and we quickly realized we were running out of space living in the city. But for us, the thought of leaving friends and family was difficult. After careful consideration, we decided that if we were going to move, it had to be under the best circumstances. We had looked at several cities and states but always felt that innate connection to Colorado. Knowing I would be leaving all things familiar; I began my search for the perfect job. Fortunately, after my interview with the Kaiser Permanente Interventional Radiology department, I quickly realized I had stumbled upon one of the best positions in the field with some of the finest partners and the uncertainty of leaving Philadelphia slowly began to vanish. So, after spending half our lives in Philly, my wife and I packed up our belongings and with our pets, we made the 1800 mile move across the country and have never regretted a day since. I am now happy to call Colorado home.

About my practice

My practice started in my neighborhood at a busy inner-city hospital. Training in a diverse city so early in my career afforded a practice style that I feel serves my patients well. As a result, I carried forth my ability to treat each patient’s unique condition from different situations with individual attention. Subsequently, as Chief of IR and as Assistant Professor in an academic institution, I had the opportunity to share what I had learned with my residents, some of which I still collaborate with today.  My practice consists of treating a wide variety of aliments but some of my favorites are fibroid embolization, prostate embolization, and treating various cancers. There is no better feeling than telling a patient their cancer is gone or hearing my patients describe how they are finally waking up without abdominal pain. At Kaiser Permanente, I plan to continue practicing as I have in the past but now with the added benefit of a supportive collaborative group in which I can continue my mission of providing quality care to future patients.

How I thrive

I spend a lot of time outdoors, no matter the season. Having a good work/life balance is important. My wife and I are avid trail runners and mountain and gravel cyclists with a love for snow sports. Snowboarding, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing have been a new source of great enjoyment. We also enjoy getting out on our SUP boards to cool off in the summer.  Our pets also provide a continuous source of fulfillment along with volunteering with rescue organizations, sanctuaries, and fostering.

Information in this online directory is updated periodically and applies to commercial plans underwritten by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Colorado. The availability of physicians, hospitals, providers, and services may change. To verify whether a provider accepts Kaiser Permanente plans, contact the provider directly. Current provider information is available at kp.org/locations. This information is updated within 72 business hours of receipt from providers. If you request it, your request for hard copies of the provider directory remains until you leave Kaiser Permanente or request that hard copies be discontinued.

Kaiser Permanente considers the following factors as it builds and maintains provider networks:

  • Size and demographics of the population to be served
  • The inventory of provider and facility types required to serve the population
  • Practitioner-to-member ratios and geographic access standards
  • Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references

You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.

An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
