Where I practice
About me
I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where I attended the University of Michigan, majoring in Biomedical Engineering and English. Before completing medical school and residency at Johns Hopkins University, I studied cervical cancer screening programs as a Fulbright Fellow in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I originally chose medicine because of my interest in public health and health policy, but I became captivated by disease pathophysiology and clinical medicine during medical school. After graduation, my wife and I were fortunate to spend my intern year of training at the University of Colorado, where we fell in love with all Colorado has to offer, and we are delighted to be back in Denver with our 2 wonderful children.
About my practice
I chose dermatology because of the unparalleled breadth of diseases and therapies within the field. As a general medical dermatologist, I see and treat the whole spectrum of skin conditions ranging from acne, rashes, skin infections, hair disorders, dermatoses impacting skin of color, to skin cancer screenings and cutaneous surgeries. I enjoy listening to your concerns and partnering with you to choose the most suitable treatments. My goal is to have you leave our visits with a firm grasp of the treatment plan, the rationale, and expectations. My patients find that I have an honest, straightforward style of communication, and I aim to approach your care as I would a close friend or family.
How I thrive
Few things nourish my soul as much as spending quality time with my 2 kids. Living in Denver, I feel fortunate to have incredible parks, museums, and libraries at our fingertips. Reflecting on our recent bike rides to visit the History Colorado Center and explore their "90's exhibit" warms my heart. In my free time, I also love to ski, especially touring in the backcountry. For me, there is nothing more exhilarating than a long spring day of hiking, snow climbing, and skiing! My wife is an avid rock climber, so you may also find me hanging from a rock face with her in Rifle or Clear Creek Canyon in the late summer and fall.
