About me

I grew up in Alberta, Canada, just a short trip away from the majestic Rockies. I did my residency in Cleveland, Ohio, where I met my incredible husband. I missed the weather and mountains of the West and so we decided to move to sunny Colorado. We live in the mountains with our 2 wonderful children and our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Loki.

About my practice

I originally had intended to specialize in cardiothoracic surgery and had completed a NIH research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic after medical school with this in mind. However, most interactions with my patients left me wondering why they did not have a primary care physician, why there was nobody in their corner coaching them to eat healthy, exercise, stop smoking, and take care of their bodies before they wound up on the operating table for a cardiac bypass. Having grown up in Canada, I knew the power of a great primary care physician and the impact they could make on the lives of their patients. I transitioned into family medicine so I could use evidence-based medicine to prevent diseases before they became something more serious.

Upon completion of my residency, I obtained my Board certifications in both Lifestyle Medicine and Obesity Medicine, and I completed additional Life Coach training and Chef Coaching certification to allow me to help provide comprehensive weight loss and disease reversal care for my patients. I especially love taking care of patients of all ages who are looking for a different approach to taking control of their health. My passion is educating my patients so together we can address the underlying causes of their disease and work towards increasing longevity and the quality of their future lives. My favorite thing to do is take patients off medications.

How I thrive

I enjoy educating patients on healthy lifestyles. I delight in seeing my patients have life changing success after working with them. My family is my pride and joy. Skiing is our favorite activity even though both of our kids have now outpaced us on the slopes. My husband is an amazing chef and creates delicious and healthy recipes for my patients. We also love traveling and it is so much fun to see the looks on our children’s faces when we are exploring new areas of the world.

Information in this online directory is updated periodically and applies to commercial plans underwritten by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Colorado. The availability of physicians, hospitals, providers, and services may change. To verify whether a provider accepts Kaiser Permanente plans, contact the provider directly. Current provider information is available at kp.org/locations. This information is updated within 72 business hours of receipt from providers. If you request it, your request for hard copies of the provider directory remains until you leave Kaiser Permanente or request that hard copies be discontinued.

Kaiser Permanente considers the following factors as it builds and maintains provider networks:

  • Size and demographics of the population to be served
  • The inventory of provider and facility types required to serve the population
  • Practitioner-to-member ratios and geographic access standards
  • Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references

You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.

An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
