About me
I grew up in New York, went to college and medical school in Boston, and completed my training in pediatrics and neonatal medicine in New York and Richmond, Virginia. I began practicing neonatology at a children’s hospital in New Jersey, but after 13 years, the mountains beckoned. I moved to the Denver area with my family in 2007 and joined Colorado Permanente Medical Group. When people ask if I miss living in the New York area, I respond, “My only regret is that we didn’t make the transition sooner!” We all felt immediately at home here. We found Coloradans to be personable and welcoming, and viewing the magnificent panoramic scenery boosts my spirits and energizes me every single day. I was honored to be recognized as a 5280 Magazine Top Doctor in 2019 and 2020.
About my practice
Practicing within the Kaiser Permanente system, in the Newborn Intensive Care Units at Saint Joseph Hospital and Good Samaritan Medical Center, enables me to provide neonatal care the best way possible – through a family-centered approach. My choice to pursue a career in neonatology was always driven by a desire to impact and optimize each newborn’s long-term outcome and potential. Having the family at the center of caring for their infant in the NICU fosters their hope and empowers them to be their infant’s best possible advocate and caregiver long beyond the NICU stay. Helping tiny, fragile, sick newborns grow and thrive is endlessly rewarding, further enhanced by knowing I have helped their parents endure, learn and grow confident in the care they can provide.
How I thrive
Newborn intensive care is an extremely rewarding field, but it is hard work and, at times, can be emotionally taxing. I maintain my balance through time with family and friends. As our children have grown independent and launched their own rewarding careers, my husband and I continue to revel in attending theater at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, hearing our favorite artists live at Red Rocks, hiking in the mountains and hitting the slopes every chance we get. We also love to travel and explore other cultures, and then love coming home to Colorado!

Kaiser Permanente considers the following factors as it builds and maintains provider networks:
- Size and demographics of the population to be served
- The inventory of provider and facility types required to serve the population
- Practitioner-to-member ratios and geographic access standards
- Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references
You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.
An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
