About me
I grew up on California’s central coast, where I loved spending time in and around the water. I was an avid swimmer and water polo player and enjoyed surfing and beach volleyball. I attended Stanford University for my undergraduate education and went to Oregon for medical school. I completed my orthopedic surgery residency at University of California, San Francisco, and fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at University of Michigan. During fellowship, I served as a team physician for the UM football and hockey teams. After training, I joined a large private practice in Bend, Oregon. In Bend, I developed a passion for the mountains and learned how to downhill ski. I also provided medical coverage for US Ski and Snowboard. After 5 years of private practice, I moved to Denver to join Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
I specialize in orthopedic sports medicine surgery for patients of all sports and activity levels. My emphasis is on arthroscopic knee and shoulder procedures, including knee ligament, meniscus, and cartilage surgery and shoulder rotator cuff and labral repairs. Additionally, I perform complex open shoulder surgery as well as anatomic and reverse total shoulder replacements.
I treat every patient like a family member or close friend. Regardless of the situation, I always try to provide the highest quality of orthopedic care. I believe that medicine should be personalized to the unique goals and circumstances of each patient, and I seek to educate, counsel, and involve my patients throughout their medical care. My goal is to restore function to patients so that they can continue to enjoy their favorite activities and live life to the fullest.
How I thrive
I thrive primarily by loving my profession. Every day, I come to work with the opportunity to improve the lives of my patients. Outside of work, I spend time exploring Denver and the mountains with my family and golden retriever, Finn. I enjoy hiking, snow shoeing, downhill skiing, swimming, and playing volleyball.
