Where I practice
About me
I was born in Denver but moved to Florida at the age of 8, where I lived for the next 21 years. I graduated from medical school at the University of Florida in 2006, then returned to Colorado to complete my internal medicine residency at the University of Colorado. I went on to brave the Minnesota winters during my fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic, and ultimately returned “home” to Colorado, joining Kaiser Permanente in 2012.
I chose to specialize in Hematology and Oncology because it is both an honor and a privilege to care for such courageous patients during one of the most challenging times in their lives. I have a deep commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care.
About my practice
I strive to empower patients with the knowledge and guidance they need to make informed decisions about their care. Within our Oncology/Hematology Department, we treat both benign and malignant hematologic conditions, as well as a wide range of solid tumors. Our team is committed to delivering compassionate, personalized care and works closely with other departments to provide coordinated, multidisciplinary support throughout each patient’s cancer journey.
My Cancer Subspecialty Focus
My areas of clinical focus include gastrointestinal cancers, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, hematologic malignancies, melanoma, breast cancer, lung cancer, brain tumors, colorectal malignancies, and benign hematologic disorders.
Collaboration on Multidisciplinary Teams
I actively participate in multidisciplinary teams composed of experts in medical oncology, hematology, radiation oncology, pathology, surgery, and related specialties. This collaborative approach allows us to develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans that reflect national best practices and offer our patients the most effective, up-to-date care—especially for those with gastrointestinal and other complex cancers.
Research & Clinical Trials Involvement
I am involved in several prestigious National Cancer Institute - supported oncology research networks, including the SWOG Cancer Research Network, National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, and NRG Oncology.
As a sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials, I work to bring novel and promising therapies to patients in our community. My research also emphasizes cancer survivorship, with a focus on enhancing long-term health, reducing treatment-related complications, and minimizing the risk of cancer recurrence.
How I thrive
When I am not taking care of patients, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. My wife and I have a wonderful son, and we are fortunate to have several family members who live in Colorado as well. I love participating in several outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, biking, golf, and intramural/club sports. I enjoy watching several sports but especially football (Go Gators and Broncos!). Other favorite pastimes include traveling, watching movies, and playing the drums.

- Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references
You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.
An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
