About me
I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from Ohio State University. I chose to move to Colorado because of its beauty and abundance of outdoor activities. I knew that I loved working with and caring for people, so medicine was an extension of this. I practiced as a physical therapist for 6 years in hospital and home care, sports medicine and occupational medicine before I attended CU Denver for medical school, residency, and as a clinical instructor in Internal Medicine Oncology. I split my fellowship between CU and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I have 2 daughters. I am most proud of the fact that I have been able to balance being a dedicated mother and physician. The most rewarding part of being a medical professional is building meaningful relationships with people of all cultures and backgrounds, and helping them to live as best as possible. I was honored to be recognized as a 5280 Magazine Top Doctor in 2020.
About my practice
My areas of focus are neuroendocrine, melanoma, gastrointestinal, breast, lung, hematologic, head and neck malignancies and benign hematology. My goal is to provide the best, most up-to-date care, whether that means standard care or participation in a clinical trial. Secondly, it’s important to me to build a partnership and lasting relationship with you in order to best tailor your treatment plan to your personal needs. I partner with a nurse care coordinator that provides a high level of consistent care and contact with each patient. I respect you, my patient, as a partner in your care and listen to understand your questions and concerns. Our extensive collaboration with other oncologists and specialists is extremely valuable. There are many resources available for my patients, including palliative care, dietary coaching, speech/physical therapy/occupational therapy, counseling, social workers and financial counseling.
How I thrive
My hobbies include most anything in the mountains—mountain and road cycling, skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, ice skating, or just lounging and taking in the beauty. I have a passion for incorporating complementary medicine into traditional medicine, and was a co-founder and board member of the nonprofit, Colorado Cancer Initiative.

Kaiser Permanente considers the following factors as it builds and maintains provider networks:
- Size and demographics of the population to be served
- The inventory of provider and facility types required to serve the population
- Practitioner-to-member ratios and geographic access standards
- Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references
You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.
An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
