About me
I was born and raised in India and moved to California with my husband in 1999. I grew up in a family of doctors and always wanted to be a doctor from my elementary school days. I graduated from Osmania Medical College, which is one of the oldest medical schools in India. What drew me toward Psychiatry was my externship work at one of the state mental hospitals in India and the research work I did at Stanford for two years during my stay in California. I did my residency in Psychiatry at the University of Colorado and started working for Kaiser Permanente in 2008.
About my practice
I absolutely love the work I do with my patients. It is very rewarding when I am able to make people feel better about themselves and make a difference in their lives. I strongly believe in collaborative care, coordinating with family and approaching the problem as a team. I am always educating my patients about how important it is to take ownership of their problem, take responsibility and work hard to overcome the hurdles in their life. I feel proud to be a part of the team that is always working hard to improve access to care and trying different things to make ourselves more available for our patients.
How I thrive
I strongly believe in exercise and relaxation for both mental and physical fitness. Taking time for walks during lunch and whenever I find time keeps both my body and mind active and stress-free. Listening to music helps me relax and rejuvenate. My patients know that I am a strong advocate of exercise, therapy, mindfulness and staying strong as well as focusing on the positive aspects of life. When I am not working, I am busy at home with my teenage son, cooking and spending time with my family. I love and adore music, traveling, learning about different cultures and cuisines, and watching movies (both Hollywood and Bollywood).

Kaiser Permanente considers the following factors as it builds and maintains provider networks:
- Size and demographics of the population to be served
- The inventory of provider and facility types required to serve the population
- Practitioner-to-member ratios and geographic access standards
- Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references
You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.
An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
