About me
I grew up in the Midwest, obtained my bachelor’s degree from Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges, and received my medical degree from the University of Michigan. I trained at the University of Wisconsin, and then practiced medicine in Madison, Wisconsin, for 10 years before moving to Colorado. I grew up with an interest in science and technology and chose medicine in the hopes of applying my interest to help others. I chose to become an internist because I was not able to fall in love with just one of the body’s organ systems, and I enjoy working out puzzling situations through detective work.
About my practice
As an internal medicine provider, I see adult patients from the age of 18, to the occasional young’un past 100. My philosophy is that medical care should be a partnership with my patients, and I want to make sure that you understand your care and actively participate in it. I see my role as a guide to help you through the often-confusing and complex medical system, and to get you to a place where you can better help yourself. I believe very strongly in evidence-based medicine and thus do not practice any Eastern or alternative medicine. I am also interested in getting chronic pain patients off opioid (narcotic) medicines and onto safer alternatives.
How I thrive
I enjoy being outdoors to ski, hike and bike. I’m also perfectly fine curled up in front of a fire or perched on a rock somewhere reading or quietly meditating. What’s important to me is having a little fun and learning something (even if it’s just a bit of trivia) every day. I do appreciate the occasional, gentle reminder when I appear to be in danger of taking myself too seriously.

Kaiser Permanente considers the following factors as it builds and maintains provider networks:
- Size and demographics of the population to be served
- The inventory of provider and facility types required to serve the population
- Practitioner-to-member ratios and geographic access standards
- Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references
You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.
An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
