About me
As a native of Colorado, I am delighted to practice medicine in this beautiful state! I am the middle child of a family of three girls, and my sisters have always been my best friends. I grew up in Aurora and went to high school in Colorado Springs. I then spent a little over a decade as part of the University of Colorado system; I went to college in Boulder and completed my medical training in Denver. My husband and I met in the microbiology lab in med school (romantic!). He is a Colorado native and even though he is a CSU graduate, we somehow still hit it off. He is an Internal Medicine physician who works a hospitalist.Looking back, it is hard to say exactly how or when I decided to become a doctor. Most of the people in my family, including both sisters, are teachers, but I have always been drawn to the field of medicine. As a teenager, I was fortunate to shadow an Ob/Gyn during my summer vacation. Since that time, I’ve been hooked! I have always been fascinated by the field of obstetrics and I simply love taking care of women.
About my practice
I am a general Ob/Gyn provider, meaning I provide a wide range of care for women from adolescence through their postmenopausal years. One of my favorite things about being an Ob/Gyn is the variety of care I get to provide. Every day is different! I split my time in the office seeing patients, in the operating room performing surgery, delivering babies, and taking care of women who are in the hospital.I am a firm believer in providing the most up to date information to my patients and helping them make the best medical decisions for themselves. I also aim to take time to understand my patients' goals and desires for their care, and try to meet these desires if at all possible. Finally, I strive to be flexible in my practices. The field of medicine is ever evolving and there are many different ways to approach diagnoses and treatment options. I am consistently reading or discussing care options with my colleagues to continually become a better doctor.
How I thrive
There is nothing that is more refreshing to me than spending quality time with family or friends! I enjoy happy hours, board games, sporting events (Go Broncos!), and concerts. I also just joined a book club with other mothers of young children. We drink wine, eat cupcakes, and sometimes even talk about the books we've read. My husband and I enjoy spending time together by trying new restaurants, attending church, getting outdoors to enjoy all of the beauty Colorado has to offer, and, of course, spending time laughing and playing with our beautiful daughter.
