Where I practice
About me
I am originally from Visalia, California, and moved to Colorado in 2017 after earning my bachelor’s degrees in English literature and psychology in Oklahoma. I began my career in mental health as a case manager, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and helping coordinate care for people transitioning out of incarceration. I have also worked in residential and inpatient settings with adolescents.
I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Northern Colorado in 2022 and became a licensed professional counselor in Colorado in 2024. I am grateful to now be part of the Kaiser Permanente team.
I have spent most of my career working with children, teens, and families. I specialize in trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, and supporting youth with big emotions and behaviors. I use evidence-based approaches such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, parent management training, and child-parent relationship therapy.
At the heart of my work is connection. I aim to build strong, trusting relationships and create a space where young people feel engaged and supported. I often incorporate each child’s interests into sessions to increase connection and comfort — something that has earned me the nickname “the nerd therapist,” which I’m proud of.
About my practice
I work on the Kaiser Permanente Colorado Complex Pediatric Therapy team, supporting children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs that affect daily life. I provide diagnostic and psychosocial assessments and create personalized treatment plans based on each child’s strengths, needs, and goals.
I use evidence-based care and standardized tools to track progress and adjust treatment as needed. I partner with care teams, including primary care, psychiatry, behavioral health, schools, and crisis services, to support coordinated, family-centered care. My goal is to help young people feel understood, supported, and confident as they build skills for lasting well-being.
How I thrive
I thrive through connection with others, especially those closest to me. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and baking, attending live music and theater in Denver, singing karaoke with friends, traveling, and working on theater productions. I also love spending time with my four nieces and nephews.
