About me
I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and am now fortunate enough to work in this community. I completed my training at the University of Colorado including medical school, a psychiatry residency and a child and adolescent psychiatric fellowship. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2016 after directing an adolescent inpatient psychiatry unit and now enjoy more variety as a consulting psychiatrist for hospitalized people with ongoing or worsening mental health issues.
About my practice
I've always had an interest in medicine and knew I wanted to be a doctor from an early age. However, early in my medical school career, I began to recognize how mental wellness was often overlooked when really it often matters most. My treatment philosophy has always sought to consider the biologic factors precipitating and perpetuating my patients' illnesses, but also the family, community and other psychosocial factors that contribute to their illness, recovery and wellness. With a background in child and adolescent psychiatry, it is important for me to understand patients not only in this snapshot moment of time but also where they have been, where they are going, where they wish to go, and how I can help get them there.
How I thrive
I am still learning to thrive myself. My personal wellness unfortunately often took a backseat to my career ambitions and starting my family. Exercise, eating right and health maintenance often fell by the wayside. Now I am learning to revel in the little things that make me appreciate life – five minutes with nothing to do but sit quietly, my children laughing, losing myself in a book for the night, and walking the dog. As these pleasures accumulate, so increases my desire to take action to balance my life and my health.

- Practitioner-to-member ratios and geographic access standards
- Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references
You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.
An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
