About me
I was raised in a family of 13 children in Chicago. My father and grandfather were both surgeons. I attended Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts, followed by medical school at the University of Illinois in Chicago. I studied internal medicine at the University of Colorado in Denver, and then did further training in geriatrics. Later in my career, I decided to specialize in radiation oncology and returned to Chicago to study at the Rush Medical College. I love the practice of medicine. In my spare time, I paint, sail and laugh a lot.
About my practice
I love the field of radiation oncology because I enjoy working with patients who are often in the biggest struggle of their lives. I find their courage inspiring. I feel privileged to work with patients who never complain about their treatment, no matter how long and difficult that treatment might be.
Even though the physicians of the Radiation Oncology department are situated in three hospitals – Saint Joseph Hospital, Good Samaritan Medical Center, and Sky Ridge Medical Center – we actually function as one united group. Each morning, all of the department physicians meet in a Quality Assurance meeting in which we review every doctor’s care of their respective patients. We believe this cooperative approach enhances safety and promotes the use of the most sophisticated and modern radiotherapy technologies and techniques.
How I thrive
I love coming to work – it charges my batteries. My colleagues bring their best energies and attitudes to the care of our patients. I believe that life is precious and wonderful. Working with patients battling cancer allows me to join with them as they work to live life fully and joyfully.

- Practitioner-to-member ratios and geographic access standards
- Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references
You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.
An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
