About me
I went into medicine knowing it would be both a challenging and gratifying career. I began my journey as a pharmacist and worked in the retail setting for 6 years before deciding to enter medical school. I ultimately chose to become an anesthesiologist. I was attracted to this specialty because it draws heavily on pharmacology, physiology, and the performance of interventional techniques including line placement, airway and ventilator management, and regional anesthesia. I enjoy meeting new patients, learning about their needs and concerns, and tailoring an anesthetic regimen most appropriate for them. My primary goal is to keep my patients safe and comfortable. My practice involves being proficient in all areas of anesthesia, including but not limited to general surgery, orthopedics, and obstetrics and gynecology. My particular areas of interest include medication safety and regional anesthesia.
About my practice
The best part of my job is meeting new patients. Unfortunately, this interaction often comes at a time of high stress or anxiety regarding surgery or a medical procedure. My goal is to get you through this experience as comfortably and as safely as possible. I believe a healthy relationship with my patients and earning your trust is the key to providing you with high-quality care. My primary role is to listen to your concerns, review your medical history and prior anesthetic experiences, and draw upon the medical technology available to me as a Permanente physician in order to create the most appropriate anesthetic plan. In medicine, however, I also understand that things may not always go as planned and I work tirelessly to ensure that my training is up to date. This includes participating in simulation sessions in the operating room and perioperative setting, keeping current with the latest anesthesia and medical literature, and understanding the importance of a team approach when dealing with unforeseen complications. My practice is open to patients of all ages and includes both inpatient and outpatient surgery.
How I thrive
At Kaiser Permanente, our goal is to have our patients thrive. This also applies to physicians as well. I thrive by spending quality time with my wife and children, and by engaging in all the activities Colorado has to offer. My hobbies include hiking, camping, skiing, and particularly fly fishing. I also enjoy listening to good music, especially at Red Rocks, and going to the movies.
