Where I practice
About me
As a board-certified Medical Oncologist, I specialize in the prevention, treatment, and research of cancer - providing comprehensive and personalized care for each of my patients.
I am originally from Nepal and decided to become a physician right after high school, realizing my calling was to serve people in need. I have never regretted that decision and it continues to be both a pleasure and a privilege. After earning my medical degree from the Medical University of Warsaw in Poland, I joined the University of Minnesota to conduct research in blood disorders and cancer. I then completed my Internal Medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, followed by a Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
I began my clinical career in 2012 as an Assistant Professor of Oncology at the Karmanos Cancer Institute of Wayne State University in Detroit, where my practice focused on gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, sarcomas, and clinical research. In 2015, I was fortunate to join the Oncology/Hematology department at Kaiser Permanente, where I continue to practice compassionate, evidence-based medicine.
About my practice
I believe in caring for patients with compassion, kindness, and up-to-date medical knowledge. As physicians, we are entrusted with our patients’ health, and it is our calling to do everything in our power to provide the best possible care.
My Cancer Subspecialty Focus
My cancer subspecialty focus includes gastrointestinal cancers such as cancers of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, anus, liver, bile ducts, pancreas, and neuroendocrine tumors and sarcomas. I also care for patients with a wide range of blood disorders and malignancies, including breast, brain, and lung cancers.
Collaboration on Multidisciplinary Teams
I work closely with multidisciplinary teams composed of experts in medical oncology, hematology, radiation oncology, surgery, pathology, and other specialties. These collaborations allow us to create personalized, evidence-based treatment plans that reflect national best practices and ensure coordinated, high-quality care across every stage of diagnosis and treatment.
Research & Clinical Trials Involvement
I participate in several National Cancer Institute–supported research networks, including the SWOG Cancer Research Network, National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, and NRG Oncology. As a sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials, I am committed to advancing cancer care through innovative research and expanding access to promising new therapies within Kaiser Permanente.
I have continued to contribute to cancer research and was honored to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the National Cancer Institute for enrolling patients in clinical trials. I am board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology, and am a proud member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American Society of Hematology (ASH).
How I thrive
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, hiking in the mountains, reading, listening to classical music, and cooking.
