About me
I grew up in the beautiful state of Alaska. I was raised in Anchorage and attended all of my pre-college school there. My family was active in all kinds of outdoor activities, especially fishing on the Kenai Peninsula. I grew up playing hockey on a rink right across the street from my house. I have a wonderful family with my wife Barbara. We have three boys, two are twins, and we have one girl. We are active in our church and a lot of sports.I chose medicine because I love to help people with their health care needs. I feel fortunate to be able to work as a Physician Assistant in such a beautiful state and for such a great organization
About my practice
I enjoy seeing patients of all ages. I have a special interest in cardiac and diabetic care as well as preventative medicine. I have a passion for helping patients control their diabetes to prevent the complications that can really affect their lives in devastating ways. I also have an relentless drive to help patients cause less harm to their health by helping them stop smoking and drinking alcohol. I do a lot of minor procedures and look for excellent cosmetic results when it requires a closure of skin. I am extremely thankful to be working here at Kaiser Permanente and especially for the privilege of taking care of patients.
How I thrive
My ''thrive'' begins daily by getting up and thanking God for a beautiful new day. My family and I play a variety of sports to stay active and healthy. We are active in church and community. I work with a group out of church that assists widows and single parents with house fix-up projects. What interests me most is ALL forms of learning -- from medicine to history along with science and facts about this wonderfully made planet we live on.
