About me
I was born and mostly raised in Southern California. I come from a military family so we moved often growing up. I went into medicine to help care for people and also to fill the gap I saw in the number of Latino providers available (even in California). I studied at the University of California, San Francisco and completed my training at a residency at UCLA. I moved to Colorado in 2005 after completing my family medical residency program. I planned to stay only for 5 years but the mountains and people of Colorado have kept me and my family here longer. I am currently splitting my time at the Kaiser Permanente Englewood Medical Offices between patient care and serving as the medical office chief. I was honored to be recognized as a 5280 Magazine Top Doctor in 2020.
About my practice
I chose Family Medicine as a specialty because I think there is a lot to be gained by getting to know patients within the context of their family units and their local communities. I also enjoy the experience and challenges of seeing all age groups. Within Family Medicine, I have a particular passion for caring for adolescents and the LGBT community. As a physician and proud father, I love the challenges and honesty that adolescents provide. My practice at Englewood includes a fairly large pediatric population but I also have patients well into their 90s. Overall, I try not to dictate to my patients but to provide information to them so that they can make the decisions that work best within their personal lives and circumstances. I try to stay up-to-date with current medical practices, practice financially responsible medicine, and provide evidence-based care. My overall goals are to better know my patients and to help them understand their options, set goals, navigate the health care system and move toward better physical and mental health.
How I thrive
I thrive personally through time spent with my partner and son. I also love to exercise, which I try to do most days before work. I escape through reading and movies, particularly through teen fiction and fantasy/sci-fi books and movies.

Kaiser Permanente considers the following factors as it builds and maintains provider networks:
- Size and demographics of the population to be served
- The inventory of provider and facility types required to serve the population
- Practitioner-to-member ratios and geographic access standards
- Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references
You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.
An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
