About me
My path to Kaiser Permanente has been a circuitous one. I was born in Michigan but moved to Colorado 1 year later. As they say, “I’m not a native, but I got here as soon as I could.” At age 17 I dropped out of high school and shortly after enlisted in the Marine Corps. I served on active duty for 5 years before deciding to get my GED and go back to school. I studied biochemistry at the University of Colorado at Boulder and developed a passion for science. That passion, combined with my drive for service, led me to medicine. I completed medical school at Midwestern University and returned to Colorado for residency training in internal medicine at St. Joseph Hospital. I am very grateful to live near my family in Colorado and proud to serve my community as a primary care physician.
About my practice
I strive to build a collaborative relationship with my patients, to understand their unique goals and beliefs, and to support them in their journey. I share observations, medical expertise, and scientific evidence to offer recommendations and options to my patients. I don’t believe lecturing or judgment benefits wellness and healing. Only through trust, communication, and mutual understanding can progress toward health and happiness be achieved. I practice evidence-based medicine and strive to empower my patients to make informed decisions about lifestyle, medications, and vaccinations. I am board certified in Internal Medicine and only see patients 18 years and older.
I take my vow to “do no harm” very seriously and I will not start or continue to provide any treatment or medications that I believe may do more harm than good or are not medically necessary. I do not believe opioid medications should be used for long-term or chronic pain. I actively work with my patients to find alternative pain management strategies to responsibly and safely reduce and eventually discontinue opioid medications.
How I thrive
I enjoy reading, especially fiction novels. I play a lot of strategy games (board games, card games, video games). I love to cook, especially spicy food, Indian and Mexican cuisines. I love animals, especially dogs, but for now I only have a cat, named Pickle, for the freedom she allows. I am also an advocate for social justice, social equality, women’s health rights, and healthcare for all.

Kaiser Permanente considers the following factors as it builds and maintains provider networks:
- Size and demographics of the population to be served
- The inventory of provider and facility types required to serve the population
- Practitioner-to-member ratios and geographic access standards
- Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references
You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.
An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
