About me

I grew up and earned my bachelor’s degree in Boulder. After graduation, I lived in Crested Butte and Alaska; taught English in Japan and travelled extensively in Asia. When I decided to finally choose a profession, I attended one of the top Acupuncture colleges in the Western Hemisphere in Santa Cruz, California. I elected to do additional study in China, where I was able to observe hospital-based Traditional Chinese Medicine in Cardiology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, OB/GYN, and Primary Care.

From 2003-2017 I had a fulfilling private practice in Boulder and owned a wellness center. Early in my career, in conjunction with a non-profit group, I created an acupuncture program for Boulder’s homeless and working poor. I then converted the program to an externship program for Southwest Acupuncture college, where I was an Associate Professor.

In partnership with the University of Colorado Athletic Department, I supervised the acupuncture treatment of hundreds of student athletes at the University of Colorado. I have performed acupuncture on athletes ranging from 98-pound runners to 225+ pound Linemen, on Olympians, NFL players, and professional basketball players. I have taught classes on Acupuncture Orthopedics and Sports Medicine locally and nationally.

When an opportunity to earn a research-based Doctorate opened, I seized it! I finished my Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in 2018.

About my practice

I am thrilled to have joined Kaiser Permanente and love the integrated approach to care. In many cases, the melding of the precision and instrumentation of Western Medicine with the subtle but powerful intervention of Complementary Medicine serves the needs of the patient best.

How I thrive

I love being outside in the mountains in my free time. I cross country and telemark ski in the winter, and still backpack in the summer.

Information in this online directory is updated periodically and applies to commercial plans underwritten by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Colorado. The availability of physicians, hospitals, providers, and services may change. To verify whether a provider accepts Kaiser Permanente plans, contact the provider directly. Current provider information is available at kp.org/locations. This information is updated within 72 business hours of receipt from providers. If you request it, your request for hard copies of the provider directory remains until you leave Kaiser Permanente or request that hard copies be discontinued.

Kaiser Permanente considers the following factors as it builds and maintains provider networks:

  • Size and demographics of the population to be served
  • The inventory of provider and facility types required to serve the population
  • Practitioner-to-member ratios and geographic access standards
  • Application of credentialing criteria encompassing but not limited to educational training, licensing, professional experience, board certification, and professional references

You may select a primary care provider (PCP) from family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. When possible, we encourage you to choose a PCP whose office is in a Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building. You may have a higher copayment and/or coinsurance with certain PCP providers. Please refer to your “Schedule of Benefits (Who Pays What)” for additional details. Use the Provider Affiliation dropdown to sort to Kaiser Permanente providers.

An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
