Yes, my office is accepting new patients. May require referral.
I was born and raised in Topeka, Kan. I chose to become a nurse because I believed it would allow me to find a job anywhere in the country. I moved to Colorado following graduation from college. My first job was as a camp nurse at a summer camp West of Colorado Springs where I met my husband. We were married in 1976 and have four children; three sons and a daughter. I worked in pediatrics for the first five years after I graduated from nursing school. I became a Lamaze instructor and taught prepared childbirth classes for 25 years. I enrolled in graduate school at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and became a women's health nurse practitioner. As a nurse practitioner, I’m able to combine childbirth and parent education in a clinical role caring for women of all ages.
I enjoy meeting a variety of patients in my practice and assisting them to meet their healthcare goals. I especially enjoy answering questions and providing direction for them to meet their needs for optimal health. Education is the most important aspect of my practice.
The water and the sun provide my favorite recreational activities. I enjoy spending time outdoors throughout the year. Walking and swimming are my favorite types of exercise. My favorite activities outside of work have included long rafting trips on the rivers in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. At home, I enjoy entertaining family and friends by cooking meals and baking desserts.
