Where I practice
I am originally from the Chicago area and came to Denver for my education. Loving the mountains and relaxed environment, I stayed in Denver and made it my home. I became a therapist because psychology and human behavior have always fascinated me. Additionally, I love being a part of one’s journey towards connecting the dots and making behavioral changes to enhance quality of life. I particularly chose clinical social work because of the ethics that guide the field and the commitment to both the individual and the community. My practice areas of focus include both trauma and addiction. My orientation is cognitive behavioral and relational in nature.
About my practice
The chemical dependency treatment services at Kaiser Permanente provide high-quality, affordable care to members seeking treatment for substance use. We also provide services to family members who may be affected by a loved one’s substance use. We have a defined range of care which uses the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria to inform and direct appropriate care. Group therapy is a principal component of chemical dependency care. Patient treatment goals are designed to meet individual needs while considering the individual’s readiness and motivation to change.
How I thrive
I thrive by spending time with family and friends. I find peace and calm in water such as lakes, creeks, rivers, reservoirs, and oceans. I find stress relief in gardening and spending time with my kitties. I love cooking, especially Indian and Mexican cuisines. I am very fascinated by psychology and philosophy and spend time reading books in both areas.
