Where I practice
I grew up in a small town outside of Cleveland but went to both University of Michigan and The Ohio State University for my education so I am full of Big Ten love. I did my training in New York City but then lived in Australia, which ruined my husband and me for the East Coast, so we moved to Colorado. Colorado is like Australia, with its more relaxed and outdoor lifestyle, but not so far from family. I come from a very diverse family with many religions, languages and cultures represented. I speak Spanish and have always sought a connection with the Latino community wherever I work. That said, it’s the diversity of my family’s experience that has made me and has inspired me to travel, live and work abroad.
About my practice
I chose family medicine because of the diversity of experience through the cycles of life – I enjoy pediatrics, teen health, women’s health and internal medicine. I was also drawn to family medicine because the emphasis is looking at the whole patient, the family and the community. I practice evidence-based medicine but believe in meeting each patient where you are and working together. For all the advancement in medicine, I still feel the most important part of health care is the interpersonal, human connections that we make. I look forward to seeing you and enjoy learning about you. I welcome patients of all backgrounds and orientations to my practice and hope everyone finds this to be a safe space. I offer my patients convenience and can answer some questions by email, phone or video visit. I work as a team with our specialists, pharmacists and others to coordinate your care.
How I thrive
I thrive by spending time with my family, hiking, skiing, camping and traveling. I find great stress relief in tending our garden and cooking from it. I love to cook and especially appreciate the challenge of taking all kinds of vegetables, beans and grains and making them into meals my picky kids enjoy.
