Where I practice
I grew up in Minnesota, where I attended St. Olaf College and majored in philosophy and biology while also playing on the soccer team. I attended the University of Minnesota Medical School to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a physician. I have always been drawn to the mountains and outdoors, so after medical school I was thrilled to come to Colorado for my pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Colorado. My husband is a middle school teacher and we have an adorable, energetic son and an equally adorable, energetic dog. There is nothing better than spending time with family and exploring the beautiful state of Colorado that we now call home.
About my practice
It is a pleasure and privilege to be there for families as their children grow up, and to help navigate the challenges that might arise. I enjoy working with parents as a team to develop the best treatment plan for their children. In medicine, the answers are not always black and white, so I prefer a shared decision-making approach where parents are included in the decision-making process and we discuss various options together. I adhere to evidence-based medicine and strongly believe in vaccinations. I will care for your children as if they are my own. I will always go the extra mile for you and your child, and if I don’t know the answer, I will find someone for you that does. I chose pediatrics because I can’t think of a better way to spend my days than to be surrounded by the energy, laughter and even occasional crying of children. Children are the future and working to keep them healthy, safe and happy is the greatest job I could have asked for.
How I thrive
I thrive when I’m being challenged, traveling, exploring the outdoors, and surrounded by friends and family. I enjoy exploring different cultures and helping underserved populations. Some of my most memorable trips during my medical training were to Peru, Ecuador and Tanzania, where I learned invaluable lessons from different cultures and met some of the most generous people in the world. However, I haven’t done much traveling recently as I’ve embarked on a new adventure of parenthood. Watching my young toddler grow is the greatest gift.
