Where I practice
My roots are in El Paso, and I was the first in my family to attend college. I came to Colorado for residency for a variety of reasons. My personality meshed much better with Colorado culture, and residency provided training with core business-of-medicine concepts. Medical school showed me that the delivery of health care is more than just medicine. I obtained an MBA with the goal to not only bridge health care and business as an organizational leader, but to optimize the delivery of care and affordability to a large population of people. Undoubtedly, Kaiser Permanente is a phenomenal place to start that journey.
About my practice
Together we will thrive – being a partner in my patients' care is central to being a physician. I am more than a patient's hospital physician. I seek to be your team manager during one of the most crucial and anxious times of your life. I treat patients the way I would treat my own grandmother. I try to understand the difficult decisions and situations we all face. I seek to deliver care that optimizes both quality and affordability for my patients. Health care is more than just medicine. I will assist you in navigating your care, so that you feel connected with the full spectrum of providers to receive the care you need.
How I thrive
My parents fervently told me to never forget where I came from. I thrive with frequent mountain biking and skiing, along with gym workouts several times weekly. I practice mindfulness, take care of my one-eyed English bulldog, and hope to volunteer with the Colorado mountain bike association. I am passionate about patient safety, managed and accountable care, and Lean principles.
