Where I practice
About me
I am a board-certified hematologist/medical oncologist practicing at Kaiser Permanente’s Woodland Hills Medical Center in the Hematology/Oncology Department. I’m glad to have the opportunity to share my background with you. It is important that you feel comfortable and confident with your personal physician, and I hope this page helps you get to know me better.
Biography
Growing up in a family of physicians, my passion for hematology and oncology developed early — it is truly in my blood. Serving people in need has always been central to my family’s values, and those values continue to guide my work today.
I received my MD/PhD and completed postdoctoral training at both the National Institutes of Health and the University of Washington in Seattle. I completed my internal medicine residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, followed by fellowship training in hematology and oncology at the City of Hope Cancer Center in California. This strong academic and clinical foundation shaped my commitment to advancing cancer care through both patient care and research.
About my practice
In addition to caring for members, I remain deeply involved in clinical research. I believe that research is not only about discovering new therapies, it is also about deepening our understanding of disease biology, improving prevention, refining diagnostic accuracy, and developing safer, more effective treatments. Advancing scientific knowledge ultimately leads to better outcomes and more personalized care for members.
As a regional oncology leader, I play an active role in developing and implementing Kaiser Permanente’s National Oncology Care Pathways. I serve on the Southern California Regional Subspecialty Breast Oncology Committee, where I contribute to pathway development, clinical protocol review, and evaluation of emerging therapeutics. I also serve on the multidisciplinary breast cancer tumor boards, providing consultation and supporting complex treatment decisions across the region.
Research and Clinical Trials
With a strong academic foundation in clinical research, I participate as a sub-investigator in several National Cancer Institute–designated research networks, including SWOG Cancer Research Network, the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, and NRG Oncology.
My research interests include biomarker-driven therapy, treatment optimization in gastrointestinal and breast cancers, and improving member outcomes through precision oncology. I am committed to expanding access to promising clinical trials and ensuring that innovations based on evidence and current research are incorporated into community oncology settings.
I am an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the American Society of Hematology (ASH), and I regularly participate in national and regional scientific meetings. Staying current with emerging research, guidelines, and standards of care allows me to bring up-to-date knowledge directly into my practice.
How I thrive
Outside of medicine, I thrive by engaging in creative and restorative activities. I enjoy writing, painting, gardening, hiking, and traveling. These passions keep me grounded, energized, and inspired, allowing me to bring my best self to the care of members each day.
