Where I practice
Hi! My name is Tho (pronounced "Ta") Le. I'm glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you get to know me.
I was born and raised in San Diego. I went to college at UCSD, attended medical school at the University of Toledo, Ohio, and then completed a residency at the University of California, Irvine. I come from a family of 4. My parents immigrated from Vietnam during the war and settled in San Diego. I have volunteered in the past with the Flying Samaritans in Mexico and wish to continue my work with international medicine in the future.
About my practice
I live by the saying: "You treat a disease, you win or you lose. But if you treat a person, you win no matter the outcome." I believe that was from the movie Patch Adams. It has always stuck with me because I believe that is at the heart of how medicine should be practiced. If I can treat every member that I encounter as part of a team (consisting of the member, myself as his or her doctor, and our staff), then I believe that we have the best chance of overcoming an illness. Mind and body are the key to health.
How I thrive
It is often difficult to focus on oneself in today's busy hustle-and-bustle lifestyle. However, it is important for everyone to take a little time out each day, even if for an hour, to focus on one's happiness and one's body for continued longevity. This is in keeping with Kaiser Permanente’s focus on everyone's continued health. When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, hiking, going to the gym, and having date nights with my wife to ensure that I have a well-balanced life. In addition, I love to travel and appreciate quality time spent with my lovely wife and our dog, Sunshine.
