Welcome to my Web page, and thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me!
Although I was born in South Korea, I consider myself a Southern California native, as I’ve lived here since I was 6 months old. I grew up in the Valley and went to UCLA for my undergraduate studies, before attending UC San Diego for medical school. I’m very appreciative of good weather. I’ve always been drawn to the sciences and have long felt a need to do something that contributes beneficially to society. Medicine was a natural blend of those two desires.
I’m a hospitalist—hopefully most of you will never have to meet me, as I exclusively care for members who have been admitted to the hospital. Being admitted to the hospital can be anxiety provoking and bewildering, for both members and their family members. My job is to reduce that anxiety by communicating effectively so everyone understands what’s happening. I also strive to provide high-quality medical care and good transitions to outpatient care.
Family-work balance is very important to me. I spend my free time with my family and friends, taking walks on the beach and enjoying foods from many different cultures. I’m also trying to learn to cook. The process is as much fun as the end result.
