Where I practice
Welcome to my home page. I am honored to have spent the last 5 years serving our members and providing high-quality eye care. My passion is providing clear, comfortable vision to members. I spend most of my day practicing general optometry. However, I also have the privilege of pursuing a clinical specialty called orthoptics. Although this specialty involves mostly children, I also treat the occasional adult who is having problems with binocular vision (i.e., double vision, focusing problems, tracking problems).
I was born in Colombia and have lived in the United States since the age of 3. Being a Spanish-speaking doctor has afforded me the opportunity to serve and educate members from many communities. Moreover, I treat members like family and seek to have all members leave my office with all questions answered. I believe that good vision is one of the greatest gifts in life, and I chose this career because I wanted to play a role in preserving, preventing, diagnosing, and treating eye conditions. I graduated with honors from California State University-Los Angeles with a degree in biology and a minor in English. I also went through a rigorous alternative nutrition certificate program at the university, which involved learning about how herbs, supplements, and food contribute to a healthy mind and body. My husband and I have been blessed with 3 children. My hobbies include cooking, dancing to salsa music, traveling, and reading.
About my practice
My holistic approach to health care has always been centered around prevention and early detection. Thus, I am an advocate of early and annual comprehensive eye exams, and regularly make referrals to other doctors within our network to ensure that our members get the health care they need.
How I thrive
I live well by eating healthy, home-cooked meals daily, and by running after my 3 kids. I hope to get back to doing yoga and working out once my kids are a little older. For now, I nourish my body, mind, and spirit with healthy food, sleep, time with loved ones, and routine wellness exams.
