Where I practice
Hello. I’m Dr. Sanchez, an ophthalmologist at the Kaiser Permanente Lancaster Medical Offices. I specialize in treating cataracts and improving the vision of members. I am also involved in championing quality health care throughout the organization. I have found much satisfaction in my work with Kaiser Permanente members.
As an undergraduate at Occidental College, I decided that medicine was the path I wanted to follow. I chose ophthalmology in general and cataract surgery in particular because it was a field where I could make a real impact on people’s quality of life in a short period of time. I went on to study medicine at USC's Keck School of Medicine before serving my internship at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center and residency at USC Medical Center. Coming to Kaiser Permanente was a good fit for me. The Kaiser Permanente team strives to deliver excellent member care every day and is passionate about creating an environment where both members and physicians can thrive.
About my practice
I may not be in the business of saving lives like an Emergency Department doctor or trauma surgeon, but I derive a great deal of satisfaction from making people's lives substantially better by restoring their sight. I try to treat each member I meet with care and respect. I make a point of getting to know them as a person and look for ways to connect with members as human beings. I am truly passionate about the work I do and the organization with which I have associated myself.
How I thrive
Active in sports of all kinds, I try to serve as a good role model for our members by staying active and eating healthy. My wife is also a physician, and we have a young son who keeps us very busy.
